The Shelter

Physically I’ve been broken,
Emotionally I’ve been scarred.
Thought I’d hit rock bottom,
yet away it was far.

Living in a shelter,
my children with me there.
A bed for us to sleep in,
and food we could prepare.

Mistakes that I had made,
led us to this place.
So thankful for the Lord,
and His saving grace.

The situation not ideal,
much worse it could have been.
But my God was with us,
gently guiding with His hands.

Although I didn’t realize,
all those years ago.
Full of trials my life would be,
so He could help me grow.
